Dr Don has been our family Dr for the past 6 years. He has seen me through both my pregnancies, and now also sees my two children. We have always been treated with compassion, understanding and complete competency by Dr Don for any of our medical concerns. The reception staff are lovely, and always chat to us when we arrive and have an actual interest in how we are and how our children are. I would take the other reviews on here lightly as they must not attend regularly to this practice, and clearly only book here because they bulk bill. Dr Don is a fantastic GP, and has built a relationship with our family based on trust and patient centred care.

I have been a regular patient at Bardon Family Doctors for over 5 years now. I have always found the reception staff to be friendly and efficient. I have also always found my doctor Dr Don Dematagoda to be an excellent doctor - very knowledgeable and he has a very friendly manner. It is also very handy to have the pathology lab on site too - the lady that staffs the pathology lab is lovely and does a great job. I don’t usually leave reviews but I was shocked to see negative reviews for this centre. As a regular patient over many years I can only say good things about Bardon Family Doctors.

Dr. Herath is amazing, always gives the best advice, genuinely invested in his patients and bonus that he’s hilarious. I also really appreciate the bulk billing as well.
Sam at reception is always so kind and helpful, making every visit smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this clinic!

Dr Don and the team at Bardon Family Doctors have been our doctor of choice for numerous years and we are always happy with their care, service and the availability of their bulk-billed appointments. There is on-site pathology testing and they have a small car park available along with easy access via public transport. We would highly recommend them!

Seeing a lot of negative reviews, I didn't have great expectations but everybody here was very friendly and helpful. The girls at reception were very friendly, polite and helpful! Dr. Don listened to everything I had to say and was very kind. I can only assume that a lot of negative reviews are due to people aren't getting what they think they can get from a bulk billing doctor.

The old lady receptionist seems lovely.
She’s not. She can’t grasp simple concepts, resulting in repeated explanations. (Eg. many appointments have come and gone, no phone call. I ask her to ensure the doctor has the right number and to maybe try a second time if unsuccessful. Her response - “just make sure you answer the phone”. After explaining the phone didn’t ring to her FOUR TIMES her answer was still to just answer the phone. That doesn’t ring. Genius.
Struggles to book appointments correctly.
Gets flustered easily when she can’t perform her duties and becomes aggravated and rude. Has just straight up hung up on me multiple times.
Today was the final straw - she CANCELED my appointment. Personally. She made the decision herself to cancel the appointment I’d just made. I wasn’t aggressive or abusive. I didn’t raise my voice or insult her. I just ended the conversation after I’d booked for my own mental wellness.
No warning. No reason other than I stopped talking to her after I booked my appointment because she was berating me for not answering in the past. I offered to show her the call logs that evidenced no call received. Again she said just answer the phone, like I was an idiot who didn’t understand how calls work.
Ironic.
Well now this dinky practice has only four patients left instead of five. There’s a reason no one goes here. Read the five star reviews. They are obviously manufactured.
