Having a large family,this practice had always made the effort to accommodate us. Usually at short notice. Me and my family have been verry impressed by this practice and there staff. The new doctor Geoffrey is great. Quick turnaround, easy to understand and an all round comfortable experience. And great with the kids.

Accessing GP services in rural settings is becoming more difficult. After more than 3 decades, I never thought I would have to seek a new GP.
Francis Family Doctors provided an extremely professional and smooth transition of my medical needs. I now travel more than an hour to see my GP.

Communication was clear, avoiding any unnecessary confusion during an otherwise stressful time.

Presenting at the clinic, I am consistently greeted in a caring and calming manner, regardless whether it is quiet or extremely busy. During these past Covid years, mask, sanitisation and social distancing requirements by all staff and patients have been and continue to be adhered to.

I make sure I communicate to the receptionists if my appointment time needs to be longer than usual. This ensures I have enough time to communicate my concerns with my GP.

Francis Family Doctors welcomes discussion to ensure I am being looked after and my treatment and needs are met. Follow up contact by staff is made to make appointments to discuss results or treatment by other specialists. Care of treatment details and procedures is upmost their priority.
Can’t recommend this medical practice highly enough.

Where do I start. Numerous prescriptions mistakes. No empathy. As reviewer Tony states, some practitioners are difficult to understand if you have hearing or language problems. No post specialist discussions or care. Unable to handle incapacity with elderly. Issues medical certificate for driving license against Attorney and optometrist advice. Mask health directives are not complied with, coughing patients without masks are not separated from other patients. Unable to handle telephone appointments so you can not resolve it like that. Cannot handle feedback on the above, as you are cancelled. Most definitely not a family or age care practice.18 months was more than enough that we could handle as a family. Be careful on the charges as private patient when the outcomes are poor and you have to keep going back. Received e-mail correspondence from one GP from a South African top level domain personal e-mail address which means that medical correspondence is forwarded overseas and outside of control of the practice BY the practice. Be aware.

Have had to change doctors in Maryborough. After some searching for Google reviews etc I phoned the Francis family practice (no relation to me).
I had some rather 'personal requirements' for my selected doctor. I asked the questions regarding my 'personal requirements' and was answered with respect and understanding, and guided by the staff member to an appropriate doctor. I will be seeing the doctor Tues 9.4.19 so stay tuned for Feedback on face to face with this medical practice.
UPDATE 10.12.2019 have been attending this medical practice since April and I am very comfortable and confident with the level of service I receive. I have complex medical issues and require much support. This practice certainly ticks all my boxes. 👍🏼

I have personally attended this practice, but obviously not under my tag name. When I first arrived in Maryborough in 2010, I couldn't get in to any medical centres as nobody was taking patients. I finally was accepted at this clinic. I wish I could remember the name of the doctor I saw. It was an older male and he had a swarthy complexion. He asked me some questions and wrote the script that I needed. (Ongoing medication.) Then he proceeded to lecture me that if I didn't follow his instructions exactly, he would not see me as a patient. That's exactly what he said. I have no intention of being lectured by someone I'm paying to see, or being treated by someone who thinks they are a little tin god. Doctors frequently make mistakes, and they need to talk to and work with patients, bit dictate to them. I never went back. It's very hard to find any decent doctors in this backwater, but I don't need to be treated like a child. I'll never go back unless I'm desperate. Added 21/7/21 - So today I get a response to the review saying it was recent. Ummm...I did say I saw the doctor eleven years ago, and this was posted at least a year ago or more. Not too quick to respond, hey?

Moved from Maryborough to Hervey Bay nearly three years ago but still go back to Francis Family Doctors to see our GP. Reception staff are always very friendly, always greeting you by name and asking after the family. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, however that just means that they are taking their time with the previous patient and not rushing them through to keep on schedule...one day that could be me or a loved one that needs that “extra time” and I would hope the person after me understands that. Would recommend Francis Family Doctors for anyone new to the area or someone wishing to change their GP.
