This is my first admission and I'm feeling very comfortable and well supported. All the staff from psychiatrist to kitchen staff have all been excellent in listening to my needs and are very friendly. Neat modern facilities, be nice if there was a internal court yard for evenings as I don't like to walk around the back of the building I feel unsafe as it's not fenced off to the public get a few odd charaters hanging around the area in the evenings. Food is really yummy and plenty of variety. Plenty of variety in groups run. you have to also remember there is no magic pill, fixing your mental health takes a lot of work, dedication and commitment to staying on track to your treatment plan. It can be extremely emotional hard some days being in hospital away from family and friends but remember your here to work on you so that you can live a life that you deserve.

Dr. Katie Boles is simply exceptional at her profession. Her passion for her work is evident, and she stands out as one of the most remarkable doctors I have ever collaborated with. The progress I have made under her guidance is truly impressive. Her intelligence is nothing short of remarkable, and she demonstrates a deep care for all her patients. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in need of medical assistance. If you’re seeking effective results, Dr. Katie is, without a doubt, the best choice. The long term psychiatrists and a few select MH professionals are why this place continues to run. The new CEO is putting in changes - but how many disasters need to happen before you get rid of the issue makers (patients and staff). Lot of nurses are arrogant, talk down to patients, blame illness on them etc., issues swept under the rug. Only continued care as it was local, better than acute and my psych Ramya is a godsend. Save yourself the trouble and go to Medicare Mental Health Clinic.

Spent 4 months here in 2016, as an inpatient.
Was eventually misdiagnosed with schizophrenia.
I had told the psych/s about some past trauma during our sessions - and after being discharged and requesting a copy of my records - read in their notes that I *believed* these things had happened to me. I guess they didn't take me seriously and/or couldn't understand what I was going through. I still have this misdiagnosis on my health record - to have it updated/changed/removed I'm told I need to book yet another ridiculously expensive appointment with a psychiatrist. I'm in the process of doing so, at present (not through TPC) and it hasnt been easy. A lot of doctors don't seem to actually care/actively listen to what I have to say.
I expected a better outcome from an extended stay at an expensive private hospital.

On a positive note - I did enjoy the meals they provided. So, thanks, to the kitchen staff.

I’ve been waiting all year to hear back regarding the referral my GP sent them. Nothing. My GP has received no correspondence from the clinic either.
I would have followed up, but decided to look at other options instead.
This is not only because I think it’s wrong, unprofessional and possibly harmful to not inform referred patients about the status of their appointments/review outcomes, but also due to seeing a Dr there once before.
The “specialist” I saw that time, did not even speak with me regarding my feelings or the issues I was having. I had never seen a psychiatrist before and thought I was going in to have an in depth discussion regarding my mental health, to try to perhaps find a cause or some guidance.
Instead, she just went off the GP referral and my questionnaire, saying it was only a once-off diagnostic appointment so “we did not have time to get into those things”.
So without all the extra information I wanted to provide, she decided I did not need a follow up appointment. (which I believe I actually did require)
I was then given a broad generalised diagnosis. My depression/anxiety medication was also switched - to one that made me worse.
Luckily, I’m very fortunate to have a wonderful GP and caring psychologist, who are helping me while I wait for an appointment elsewhere.
I’m not sure if this clinic is understaffed, or just poorly run. But I would not recommend it as a first choice to anyone looking for thoughtful, caring and personalised treatment.

Dr Venkataramanan is such a lovely and caring man who took the time to listen and build a rapport with me. He seems very knowledgeable and is taking the time to ensure my suitability for medication with a specialist before just handing out meds, to ensure my health will be safe. The admin staff I dealt with was very friendly and efficient and there was no issue regarding DVA as some others have reported. I admit, I was nervous for my appointment here after reading so many negative reviews but I definitely had a good experience. 👍

Wish I would’ve read the reviews before my GP had suggested this clinic to be referred to. I rang the next day and was told I would hear from them by text about when my appointment would be. After waiting a month and a half I rang again only to be told that my referral was rejected and that they had called my on 1st March to let me know that couldn’t see me. I challenged that because I have voicemail and never received a voicemail stating they couldn’t accommodate my needs. I then asked the receptionist if they had sent any correspondence to my GP stating why out of 6 doctors they couldn’t see me? Nope. Nothing. After stating they had “contacted” me, 20 days after they contacted me they still hadn’t sent anything through to my GP to let him know.
Even trying to go private and willing to pay good money so I can get the help I desperately need being told that it was rejected was just a kick while someone is down. Mental health help from this practice is a complete joke. Now I have to go back to my GP, get a referral to someone else while waiting however long to either be seen or rejected.
I feel so alone on my mental health journey and now I feel worse, like I’ve been thrown in the to hard basket, absolutely shocking and disgusting experience. Avoid at all costs. My mental health is now so fragile after being rejected and not even being told why. I have a pretty good idea why they rejected it and it’s discrimination. Of course they’ll say whatever they want but deep down I know why they rejected me.
If there are 6 doctors there and not one can help me with my PTSD and anxiety what chance do I have anywhere else?
I know feel worse after this experience then I did before.
They don’t care about people there at all.
