Going to Garema Place Surgery for many years, to see my doctor. My GP is excellent, caring and professional in my health, still going to Garema Place for my treatment.

All the Reception was so Friendly and helpful, when I come to Garema Place Surgery.

There are three entrances into Garema Place Surgery, there are two doors at each end of the building, and a lift inside the (old Develin's Chemist) many entrances.

If you are in a wheelchair ♿ or have a pram for the children, take the Lift, up to the Surgery.

When I moved to Perth, I requested the clinic to send me a copy of my own reports. They REFUSED to send it unless I pay their “administrative” and “postage” fee which legally, they say they have the right to charge.

i felt they only value me as a person who brings money to the practise, instead of a patient. If my past medical reports won’t help a new GP to provide me the best care in future, why are these reports even being saved?

Spoke to the practise manager on phone. Who was nowhere near being empathetic towards my health condition and severity of the situation in which their patient is in different state and urgently needs to access their OWN medical reports. They claimed “I have worked in healthcare for over 20years and it is like this everywhere”. When I confirmed that I did not pay to transfer my files from last practise to Garema Place Surgery, they refused to comment. I reiterated that I do not need any of the doctors notes just scan reports, blood works, etc. Still refused.

. I wish the practise manager amends the new patient form for their clinic so every new patient is aware they’ll be asked to pay $$$$ to access their OWN medical reports.

Every GP I have seen at Garema Place Surgery has been wonderful. In particular Dr Natasha Greer, Dr Amanda Howard, Dr Veronica Kolos... all genuinely care about you, take the time to make you feel heard and investigate issues and solutions, and never make you feel rushed. I have been going here for at least 7 years and now take my newborn here. Reception staff and nurses have always been great too.

Didn’t understand who gave those receptionists the privileges to say to people who were in distress (that’s why they are going to a GP I guess) and have been waiting for 45 minutes behind the scheduled time, “we can’t control the doctor’s time and next one is you okay?” “If you leave now you still have to pay” with eyes rolling. A simple “sorry about the wait” would have been nice. Most of the doctors were nice but for that reason, I’m out and never again.

I was pretty disappointed to be sent an invoice a full month after requesting a file transfer. While I realise GPs are entitled to charge for file transfers, they need to be upfront about costs. I only needed a transfer because this GP refused to write a referral anyway. I'm now looking for a GP that values transparency and patient autonomy.

Dr Phang is fantastic and never rushes me. She is 5 mins late at most and is always apologetic. She has helped me with a variety of health issues.
