A huge thank you to Bathurst hospital. I critically cut myself just before Christmas and assumed I would be able to care for it myself at home. When the bandaid was stuck we had to go to A&E at Bathurst. My Dr was meticulous in investigating my injury, seeking expert assistance from an orthopedic surgeon, taking X-rays and cleaning and redressing the wound. I was expecting her to just redress my would and I’ll be on my way but she spent two hours with me working on my injury and seeking expert guidance. 10 days later I had to go back to the fracture clinic to have the wound reviewed and again, the doctors and nurses were so professional, knowledgeable and caring. I had heard bad reviews about the care and service from Bathurst Hospital but we have nothing but high praises for their attention and assistance .

Emergency Services at Bathurst Base Hospital is not one of the best, it is indeed the best. From first hand observation I witnessed how dedicated thorough and professional the ED Team was, thanks to its leadership both nursing and medical staff. A very valuable asset this department is not only for Bathurst but also the West NSW region. ✅✅

I am currently on the Surgical ward at BHS, and it is 1230 in the a.m. I feel compelled to write a heartfelt thank you to the night staff on shift. Rita my nurse is incredibly attentive and compassionate, I am very grateful for her ability and pre-emptive care. I work within health and must say her demeanour lends itself to nursing. I did not expect to be in this situation when I awoke yesterday morning, but am at ease for her and other night staffs care. Thankyou ?.

I live in Orange.
On April 25th, my husband and I were going home after meeting a friend in the Blue Mountains.

But suddenly my husband said he had a terrible stomachache and vomited.

So we went to the emergency room of this hospital.

The nurses treated my husband kindly while holding his stomach, and the receptionists were also friendly.

We waited for about 3 minutes to see the doctor, and the test results showed that it was appendicitis, so we had surgery.

While my husband stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, all the nurses and doctors made him feel safe and comfortable.

The hospital was also a clean environment.
Also, the doctors were kind.

This is my husband's third surgery, and he was very impressed with this hospital.
Through this article,
I would like to thank all the medical staff.

I am writing about me and my 10 year old daughter's terrible experience, on Monday 30th April 2024. We sat on a seat in the waiting room from 6pm until 1am, got called in to see the Emergency Doctor. We were left on a more comfortable recliner chair for another 5 hours. The Quality Assurance Officer on at 6pm, Nurse Gabby, Bathurst Hospital X-Ray Department, and The Hospital Assistant all on at 1 am, were absolutely fantastic! If I could give them 5 stars on this post I would! The Emergency Dr assumed she was fine as her oxygen levels were very good even though they didn't listen to her feelings. She didn't feel like she was being heard, and felt uncomfortable being on a chair for such a long period of time, it was heartbreaking as a mother. Clearly hearing the wheezy rattle in the voice box. Sent home 5am with steroids and a puffer for croup. She was having 8 puffs every 4 hours and steroids did nothing. She has been having trouble breathing, a low grade fever, coughing up green mucus vomiting since Sunday 28th April 2024, and has had a dry cough, from 2 weeks before that. They decided before we left the hospital, to test for whooping cough. Clearly specifying to book into a GP on Wednesday, as the results would be avaliable. We went to the GP on Wednesday. GP rang the hospital after her chest X- Ray results from the hospital showed she clearly had Pneumonia, the GP also wanted to see about whooping cough test results. Pathology said "Oh, you won't know that. We sent it off to Westmead Children's Hospital today." "What? Are you serious?" Fast track to now, Friday 3rd May 2024. She has Mycoplasma Pneumonia a highly contagious bacterial lung infection! Luckily, she is on the right treatment now. Even though there's a shortage of this particular antibiotic, which panicked me, on top of jumping through all these hoops, she will hopefully have more on Saturday 4th May 2024 morning, from lovely Bathurst Base Hospital Pharmacy!
I'm relieved we weren't admitted to be honest as she is going ok at home.

Only a one hour wait in emergency. A physio therapist examined me and quickly determined my condition was not serious and what treatment was required. Honestly it was as fast as private care.

Absolutely disgraceful place.went into emergency with a sick baby.it had been explained that he was only 3mths old he was sick and having trouble breathing.we then had to sit in the waiting room for 2hrs .i watched a grown man come in after me with a sore wrist .he wasn't sure if it was broken or not but yet he went in before us(straight away,he was in the waiting room for 5 mins).
,3hrs later, still in waiting room and still haven't seen anyone.that is absolutely disgusting of this hospital.to give a person priority over a 3mth old baby with breathing issues.you should all be ashamed .if I could of said my part without out giving you any stars in the review that's what you would of got.
