I actually have anxiety attacks going to see Dr Birra. She is so obnoxious and unhelpful. Every time I see her I don’t get proper care. She doesn’t listen to what I have to say about my ailments and just be condescending. At the end of my visits with her, I don’t feel cared for or listened to.
I used to love coming here and get looked after very well by Dr Jingwal but she has moved practices. Sadly I have to look for another GP and pay an extra fee as it is
how things go nowadays.
I hope they find another caring GP for this practice as me and my family have been coming here since they opened.

I am Chinese and when I first come to see Dr. Birra She told me I have accent so she cannot understand me, but I went to other GP in other clinic the doctors can understand me well, I think she is racist and needs to apologize to all the pensioner she had bad attitude on. The counter has a Chinese (maybe Cantonese ) nurse and she can speak mandarin, but her attitude was bad and in a very loud voice if Chinese people ask her question. By the way, she didn’t ask me if I am Chinese, if I am Japanese or Korean or from other Asian countries, what will she do?
All in all, this Gp has lots of racists and I recommend everyone go to other clinic.

This practice is good in the sense that it still bulk bills and does walk ins. However even with these benefits I do not recommend. I visited Ashfield mall GP about a year ago and have never came back. I said to one of the female doctors (can’t remember her name) that I think I could potentially have ibs and endometriosis. She said “you don’t have endometriosis.” She didn’t ask why I think I have it or any symptoms just shut me down straight away. Fast forward a year later and I’ve just had surgery, getting other doctors opinions, to find out I had a pretty bad case of endometriosis. The lack of care and ignorance from the doctor was appalling, especially as she was female, you think she would acknowledge it. I don’t know why she thought she was a psychic and just said I don’t have it. If I had never got a second opinion, I would’ve been having issues until menopause. It’s really disheartening to have female doctors ignore female based problems.

They shut at 6pm, yet every day the last appointment is at 4pm and the Dr goes home. So they're open for 2hrs for.... No reason whatsoever? Looks like a pretty dingy place, might catch something just by walking in.

Apparently GP cannot see patient after 4 PM as by that time they have hit the daily medicare limit for patients. why advertise longer opening hours if GP cannot see patients.

Been coming to this gp for a while. Not the best quality but they'll sort you out if you have a problem. Just had an appointment with their new GP Dr. Yang Wang. I think that was the most racist interaction that I've ever had with a medical practitioner.

He first assumed that I was Nigerian because I was black. When I told him that I was English he did the "but where are your parents from"? When I said England he asked "where are their parents from"? Some of the other conversation that we had is private but I can say that I was not pleased with the rhetoric of stereotypes spoken by Dr. Wang.

I understand that genetics can be useful information when communicating with a patient. However none of the information provided was linked back to relevancy and his questioning was full of racist micro-aggressions.

I implore this practice to get Dr. Wang to do some racial sensitivity training because the way he spoke to me was full of assumptions, biases and prejudices.

Giving a 2 star because every other practisioner and staff that I've communicated with over the years have been fine.

This place should be shut down for malpractice, not to mention the rudeness from doctors and staff is outrageous!!! No appointments wait all day not to mention Dr Amika pretends to care but really couldn't give two hoots, she comes back from holidays and doesn't transition her patience to adjust to charging $80 now and gets the receptionists to do all the dirty work by explaining it all to the patience. It's appealing and definitely not worth it.
I don't know where at NZ University Dr Amika got her degree from but she has no knowledge of medical diagnosis whatsoever she second guesses herself and relieson patients advising her what the patient recommends shouldbe the doctor of course, can't imagine seeing her husband if needed to being a cardiologist Hatish Jangwal. I presume I would have more heart conditions from seeing both. Can't imagine what they'd discuss at dinner time...... I think they both need to be looked at by the medical board especially Ashfield General Practice In General....Don't waste your day or time by lining up and paying $80 when Google Doctor is more reliable unfortunately. These Doctors (Indian) need to do some medical studies here before guessing, judging, consistency rude, inconsiderate, unethical practice, racist and abrupt, no caring manner about them before practising medical treatments in Australia!!!! , I don't blame the receptionists by hardly ever having a smile as they must dislike working here if I was receptionists I'd go work at a more happy, friendly and lively Doctors practice rather than a downhill, sad and miserable place!!!
Go to Stannum Medical Clinic Ashfield or MY Family Doctors at Fivedock is highly my recommendations and save yourself time by going by a booked appointment and not wasting your day waiting for unprofessional and unexpereienced Doctors and not to mention money without having to be charged $80 per visit on Google medical advice ? ? total that up in one year that's a holiday!!

Dr Jangwal was on holiday so I had to see Dr Birra for a very itchy rash . I had to ask Dr B to repeat what she was saying several times and finally she shouted "LIFT THEM UP " meaning my breasts (to see if rash there). I did so . I'm a nurse and must say her simple treatment worked. Mary at reception?
I've learned that if she calls you "Darling" you are OK. So I usually beat her to it ,hahaha
