I have nothing but positive things to say about the reception staff, doctor, counsellor and psychologist I’ve seen at Griffith Nathan Campus. At every point of contact you are treated with kindness and respect, and the ladies at reception are always so welcoming and non-judgemental. I can’t say enough positive things about the lovely staff and encourage you to seek their help and support when you need it, while you have the access as a student.

The docors are thorough and excellent health professionals, however it is often next to impossible to make an appoinment to see one within a 2 week period. Futhermore, I arrived 5 minutes early for an appoinment and had to wait an hour to see my doctor, I have many assessment items due as it's the final week of trimester. It would be nice to have been informed that there would be a wait for my prescheduled appointment so I could make decisions regarding completing assessment and returning at the appropriate time. Very poor managmement, results in wasted time.

The nurse consistently criticised me for not having my mandatory requirements completed. I tried to explain that this was due to a recent loss in the family but she kept cutting me off and implying it was due to poor time management. She also linked my grief and depression to my diet and not my circumstances. She was passive aggressive, lacked empathy and just overall needs to practice her interpersonal skills and professionalism. I left that appointment in tears. I would hate for another student to experience this so I filed a complaint to only be told she “didn’t mean it/doesn’t recall saying that.” She is delusional if she believes that her lack of empathy and overall rude demeanour was anywhere near good practice. My experience was so terrible that I decided to drive an hour away to the Gold Coast clinic to complete my requirements. The staff at the GC clinic went above and beyond to help me complete my requirements and did not once mention my late submission. My placement officer didn’t even mention it! She acted as if she did me a world of favours for accessing my immunisation records, only to find out today she gave me the wrong documentation. I strongly suggest making the trip to Gold Coast Instead.
