Have just had surgery and an overnight stay. All staff from start to end have been amazing. Such beautiful nurses and a beautiful atmosphere! Made my experience much less stressful. Food was super delicious too!

If only I could give 0 stars. Mum had surgery here and stayed for 6 nights. Service was terrible. Nurses don’t care about patients - eye rolls when asked for something or not even returning back. Not acceptable for a patient who is not mobile. There are not enough qualified staff, mostly students. When manager got involved about an issue, she couldn’t even solve the issue instead sent two student staff to help mum instead of a qualified staff. The food provided is also terrible. Labelled as a private hospital - they seriously need to pick up their game.

This review is long overdue but I’ve had to write one about my positive experience here as a FTM. The midwives here are amazing and I can’t thank them enough for the care they provided for myself and my family. It was special to have advice and encouragement from all the different experiences of midwives. Facilities are great and the meals are lovely too 😀

Accepted my maternity registration and excess payment in early October and just five days later they emailed to say the maternity unit is closing in 2 months. I was left scrambling to find another private maternity hospital and ultimately was forced to change obstetricians as a result of the closure. The hospital has still not refunded my excess payment. Why were patient registrations still being taken despite the impending closure?

Dr Singh was brilliant as always however, unfortunately, the healthcare charter was not respected at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital. This observation has been consistent across my experience of private psychiatric facilities across Sydney. The right to issue a complaint or feedback without any threat of reprisal is the cornerstone of healthcare ethics, however, is scarcely respected or even acknowledged. Every consumer of healthcare is afforded the dignity of making a complaint without the fear of retaliation or being barred from further access to treatment. Whilst an inpatient at Syd Southwest, I intervened in a physical confrontation between two staff nurses on a quiet weekend and waited 3 hours before security or aftercare management arrived. This caused me significant distress and all I expected was an acknowledgement and apology from the hospital, in order to receive the reassurance that the matter had been investigated and that future patients would be spared the distress that I had experienced. I received neither-In fact I was actively prevented from speaking to the Director of Nursing despite knowing my rights as a consumer of healthcare to do so. This is simply unconscionable. Secondly, when harassed by a fellow patient, I complained to nurses and the staff counsellor and was simply ignored. Eventually, I was forced to take matters into my own hands and called out the harassment myself and was then prevented from accessing future treatment at SYD Southwest Private Hospital. My behaviour was neither disproportionate nor was it inappropriate. This despicable behaviour is indicative of the wider systemic moral disengagement within the psychiatric system at large. Ultimately psychiatry is a construct of abusive structures supported by abusive pharmaceutical companies supported by abusive doctors, nurses and individuals. Steer clear of Syd Southwest Private Hospital especially if you are a young female patient. Your safety will not be prioritised. Shame on them. Shame on any individual or institution that victim blames and victim shames. Speak truth to power always but be prepared to face the consequences of doing so.

In the interests of fairness, I would like to also provide some positive feedback and acknowledge Syd Southwest for the respect the staff showed towards my religious requirements.They were respectful, accommodating and supportive. This progressive and culturally competent overall attitude was unprecedented across my experience as an inpatient at other private hospitals in Western Sydney. The hospital is to be commended for their exemplary ethical conduct in this regard.

My wife was very happy with the experience at Sydney South West Private Hospital. The nursing staff team are extremely dedicated and caring...special mention of Mariella, Erma, Nisha, Pravina, Nice, Bidita. You are a credit to your profession. They all took special care and made her very comfortable the 2 nights, 4th and 5th July she was in the private room in the surgical ward after her operation. Overall experience was excellent. Recommend highly!

My son went in for surgery on his ears, and everything went well. The reason for my review though, is the friendliness of the staff. As I sat on the floor near the surgery entrance I had multiple people check if I was okay and even offered me a seat so I could be on my the level near where recovery was.

Not only that but I witnessed a person who seemed to be lost and another nurse or staff member was very helpful in explaining directions after which she walked over with him to show him.

It’s the little above and beyond things that I witnessed that made me review.
