STAY AWAY!! I had the worst interaction with the nurse doing my medical. She made me out to be a junkie because of the medication I take, she told me I would not get the job and also told me false information about medication by telling me it's illegal to drive while being prescribed to my medication which was completely false as the Australian governments health department has specificity put said medication . After this she made a comment on me being depressed because I wasn't talking to her enough... Why would I wanna talk to someone who is making me out to be a junkie for medication I am prescribed to buy a doctor?

The nurses at the center were actually very nice, but that is where the compliments end sadly.
Their administration is beyond awful. First booking was never actually made despite us accepting the times. Second booking took several weeks, multiple emails and calls to organise.
It is now nearly three weeks since the medicals were completed and still no results or even communication from JobFit.
As a small company that requires these medicals to attend site this has now placed our business under threat of closure due to the delays and lack of service.
I would really advise people to look elsewhere, even if it does cost a little more.

Hurried, cold demeanour. Judgemental, unfeeling robots. Rush, rush, rush, SHAME, rush, rush, rush.

First & foremost complaint: Nurse assessing me passed judgement on me for being a (light) nicotine smoker. This came in the context of me explaining that, although I have had a regular psychologist in the past, I am currently unable to see a mental health professional because I can't afford to. Her response: "So how do you afford cigarettes?"

No acknowledgement or sympathy for the fact that seeing a psychologist (AND psychiatrist at the same time) is prohibitively expensive, and not covered by Medicare — only verbal judgement that basically says to me 'you're poor because you smoke.' I was taken aback / wish I had said at the time that I find that comment to be extremely judgemental ... and UN-CALLED-FOR, since she is not my GP, and I'm not at Jobfit for medical advice. I started to respond, but she then cut me off to say, "No talking now," as she was already wrapping the heart pressure band around my arm, i.e. moving on to the next question without giving me space to answer the previous / no space to respond to the judgement.

Instead, I felt shamed, and tried to explain after the heart pressure test: "Actually, I only spend $40 a fortnight on tobacco - and to see a psychologist costs around $200." No comment from her after this - only to say GP's can provide a mental health plan. (Thanks, Sherlock.)

Of course, as a smoker, I encounter plenty of frowning looks from people in public etc, or even advice from health professionals guiding me towards smoke cessation, which is fair enough. I know smoking has adverse health affects, and I know how dumb and expensive it is. What's UNFAIR is being SHAMED about it, or basically told that it's my fault I can't afford to see an unrelated specialist that is NOT covered by Medicare (even with the rebate) ... like I could magically see all the specialists if only I quit smoking.

As a nurse who is NOT consulting me, but rather only administering tests - she should make NO COMMENT about my responses or my condition, because that is why I see a regular GP. She should be impartial.

Secondarily / more generally: Same nurse assessing me rushed through background questions without listening to my replies, actually cut me off a few times to repeat the question - in the SAME way, not even a different wording to help clarify or whatever. Also cut me off in the same way after I brought up a medical procedure that I was hesitant to mention because it was sensitive / traumatic for me. Same for instructions about physical movements - rushed right through, so I had barely processed what she'd just said before she was asking me the next task.

Rude, arrogant, cold - in the wrong profession.

Extremely rude receptionist, nurse rushed the appointment as if it was my fault for being on time. Re booked an appointment for me because they couldn’t complete the original in time, then completed it without me there but failed to tell me not to come in for the next booking. Not even an apology from the receptionist.
