To anyone in need of detox and recovery, I highly recommend this location. The small size may not be right for those who are physically active at a high level, but there's an intimacy in it, so you will get to know the staff and the few other patients well. The food was surprisingly good, the staff are good, caring people, the administration meets with the patients weekly and will quickly address any needs they can, and as long as you arrive with a positive attitude, no expectations, and a willingness to surrender to the program, you can get a lot out of your time here. I hope I don't relapse, of course, but if it should happen, I will absolutely seek to return here.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Very friendly staff, available for any need I had at all times. The facility is very clean and comfortable and I felt safe and supported my entire stay. I cannot say enough good things about them. Your loved ones or yourself would be making a great choice if this is an option for you.

Great experience at Tampa addiction center.
The room was extremely comfortable. Every one had their own personal tv in the room. The staff were amazing, always there when needed. Food was delicious. Breakfast, lunch , and dinner cater in and different meals every time. Food bar with snacks available 24/7 with many options to meet everyone needs. The facilities were always clean and very confortable. Common area tv room has Netflix. The group sessions were extremely helpful. I will recommend to anyone looking for help to contact them.

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. From the food, the rooms, the beds, the groups and of course most importantly the staff. From the kitchen staff to the techs and operations I want to thank you all so much for being there when I was in desperate need of help. If this place wasn’t good I wouldn’t even bother leaving a review. You all were amazing. Thank you

I was sent to this place in January and let me tell you, if you care about your loved ones at all then DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. It’s like they took a bunch of (unqualified) therapists/social workers that all work in different practices and slapped them into one building bc nobody ever knows what anyone’s doing. I didn’t get any therapy while I was there. In fact, I got more advice and therapy from the clients. It felt like they really didn’t give a damn about me while I was there and I had breakdowns almost every day bc of it. They didn’t like that so they sent me to another center instead of helping me work through my issues. I would crawl into a fetal position in my room almost every day and bawl my eyes out and what did they do? NOTHING. Nobody would come check on me. Total abandonment. On top of that, one of the social workers there (I forgot her name but she had long blonde hair) loved the call my parents and boldly LIE to them about my behavior. She told them that I was throwing chairs and that I smashed yogurts on the ground (there’s cameras EVERYWHERE which would prove me right). My mother even told her that that didn’t sound like me and this lady GASLIT my mom saying “she’s in withdrawal and people don’t act themselves while in it.” Which is total bs considering at the time I was “throwing food and chairs” I wasn’t even in withdrawal anymore… I could barely even walk around while I was in withdrawal!!!! ALSO, I have chronically low blood pressure and I couldn’t sleep so the nurses intelligently decided to give me clonidine to sleep. One night while they took my bp it got dangerously low and one of the nurses barged into my room yelling at me all “YOU NEED TO GET UP AND EAT SOMETHING AND WALK AROUND BC IM NOT LOSING MY LICENSE OVER THIS!!” As she jingles her lanyard in my face. This facility seriously needs to be investigated.

It’s been 8 months since I left this place and I feel that my life is in shambles, and I partly blame curasouth. My life took a turn for the worst after leaving that place and ever since January I’ve felt different. One word I can describe this place as is ABANDONMENT. Please for the love of God if you really love and care about someone please DO NOT SEND THEM TO CURASOUTH!!!!!

My experience at CuraSouth was nothing less than Great. The facility is absolutely beautiful and well cared for. Rarely will you find a staff that invests so much time into its clients. As a gay man I was supported and felt cared for unconditionally. My therapist Lauren was wonderful. She was thoughtful nonjudgmental, and kept in close contact with my family as if it were her own. I’ll be forever grateful for Lauren, Jackie, Billy, Mocha, Kecia, and Desiree for everything they’ve done. Lastly, the medical team was great. I never felt like my needs were unheard. ❤️

Cura South is an incredible place. This is my first time in Detox/rehab, and both programs exceeded my expectations. Every staff member is kind and supportive and truly wants to see you succeed in your recovery. I’ve heard horror stories of other facilities being terrible to live in but Cura South, in my opinion, is the best place to recover. They have extremely comfortable beds and warm showers. The food is fantastic too. On top of having a 24/7 snack and drink area they also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. You will not go hungry. The medical staff and therapists are wonderful, they make sure you know what medicine you’re taking and they take time to explain any questions you may have. The therapists really are rigorous with how they plan your recovery. They help you set goals for yourself and they teach classes about addiction recovery, among other subjects, throughout the day. Every night at 7:30pm (except for weekends), they have an AA speaker meeting comprised of AA members around St. Pete. This place should be your top choice if you’re looking to recover from any addiction. I’m so happy with the choice I made and will not forget the people and lessons I learned here. Thank you Cura South!
