My husband just had surgery at Mayo this morning. Received nothing but the best care from every staff member we interacted with — check-in, registration, nurse, surgeon, pharmacist, cafeteria worker, security, etc.

If you don’t want to hang out at the hospital they can also text you updates. I love getting the play-by-play, didn’t feel in the dark.

They are also building and hiring like crazy to keep up with the demands of the growing Valley.

The hospital has also been recently remodeled and has some beautiful artwork, murals, etc. Very clean and healing environment without being “sterile” with that gross hospital smell.

Dr Henry Clarke did the impossible: he removed the botched knee replacement that quack from California had put in, installed a new implant properly, and in doing so, he restored my alignment and my ability to walk properly in the future. The entire staff at the Phoenix Mayo clinic is to be praised: the level of care I've gotten there in incomparable. It's a painful operation yet everyone there has gone above and beyond the call to inform me of everything, care for me and make sure I was as comfortable as I could be under the circumstances. I spent 2 nights in the hospital, I was discharged yesterday with a bag of meds and clearly defined instructions, and while I do have pain, I also have hope, now: I'm going to do my part in physical therapy and heal, and thanks to Dr Clarke and the Mayo clinic in Phoenix, in the spring, I'll be hiking again, my quality of life will return. Seriously, if you have any orthopedic issues, head straight to the Mayo clinic, you won't be disappointed. Best medical care ever, best staff, and holy footprints do they know their stuff.
EDIT: It's official: Dr Clarke is the botched knee whisperer ? I'm 13 days post op, walking without the walker and I started cycling today. (It took 4.5 weeks with the previous surgeries) Knee bend is at 90 degrees and knee extension is almost at 180 degrees. Also today I haven't needed painkillers. Zero back or pelvic pain which had been plaguing me since the original surgery on this left knee. I can't believe my progress already, I am so, s stoked. And grateful. Because without Dr Clarke I'd still be in pain on my couch. ?‍♀️ Mayo clinic is the best ?

Are you kidding me? The experience was life chaging - life saving! The services provided are catered to your every need. Yes, it is all about you, and that's what makes this place great and you actually end up leaving feeling whole again. A hospital stay like no other, with excellent intelligence, kindness, compassion, and skill - Mayo Clinic Hospital is my first choice when it comes to ER health care services. They saved my life nearly a year ago and I'm still grateful to the team that made it all happen. And I know it wasn't easy nor cheap, but still worth it.

I am so grateful for the love and care provided to my father, Patrick, in the Progressive Care Unit. Fiona, Sammie, Javier, Sydney, Shannon, and many others cared for us like family. My dad spent 3 weeks at the Mayo, unfortunately he passed away. But the nursing staff went above and beyond, daily. I am beyond grateful for them. They are truly angels walking on earth. They are gentle and patient and lead with love. Thank you all so very much for making the most difficult and heartbreaking time in my life a little easier to go through. God bless you❤️

I came to Mayo Clinic seeking care for a medical condition my existing doctors had told me had no effective treatment. Rather than accepting the degraded life my doctors gave me, I did research and discovered a surgical option that has proven successful when done well. So I turned to Mayo Clinic.

From the start of this journey, each person I encountered at Mayo Clinic has been professional, compassionate, and wonderful to meet and work with. What an amazing place!

Reading the paperwork on Patient’s Rights and Responsibilities was eye-opening and helps give some insight into what makes Mayo Clinic function at such a high level. If only that kind of commitment and information was available in my other hospitalizations, it would have been a tremendous help to me, and to those providing care for me and others. The culture and organizations, of course, would also need to be as committed and well-managed as Mayo Clinic. I’ve never experienced anything like it elsewhere.

I hope everyone at Mayo Clinic hears this often from patients because it is so true. You are wonderful! You changed my life for the better. And you helped my family and friends because you were so amazing with my care. I thank you for myself, and for them.

My mom is here getting knee surgery, and the hospital, staff, and everything overall has been a fantastic experience.
Having worked in the healthcare field for many years and in hospitals, this has been a great eye opener since Covid.
Since customer service, empathy, and overall experience everywhere else seems non-existent, it definitely made me feel hopeful again in the healthcare system.
The staff has been absolutely wonderful, the hospital is very well maintained and clean, and I am just beyond impressed!

Completely disappointing ER “experience “ nothing but trauma. My daughter a current Mayo patient was urged to go to Mayo ER has she was having heart palpitations, dizzy, faint feeling,severe dehydration, purple nails etc. The nurse was cold. The attending MD under the main Dr was okay and at least listened to us. She said by looking at my daughter she severely dehydrated and to the touch of skin. No IV were given. The Main ER Dr on call was a complete jerk and saw us for less than 1 minute. We were discharged on our way home to Tucson. We saw my daugher’s EKG which was completely abnormal . Yet they let us leave and told us to follow up w PCP . No care , no help , no compassion. Absolutely terrible . I do not understand how Mayo is held in such high regard? I even asked the Dr . You are going to let my daughter leave like this? To which he said “this is the American health care system today “ so smug . His name was Dr Shaw . No empathy . I imagine if it were his family member or a big donor they would have referenced help . 1 star bc the security guard in front was kind.

This facility is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. Everyone made me feel very welcome. I was there to have an MRI done and was nervous. I don't like being in small spaces. When I got to the MRI a gentleman named Brian explained to me how everything worked and made me feel much more comfortable. He was checking in on me the whole time and it really wasn't bad at all. I recommend this hospital to anyone needing healthcare.
