Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Missenden Road, Camperdown.
The hospital was established in 1873 by an Act of Parliament, and three years later, construction of the C and D Pavilions and Administration Building began. The most significant investment in RPA's 140-year history to support the provision of world-leading health services.

One of the oldest hospitals in NSW, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital was funded by public subscription in honour of the recovery of Prince Alfred, who had been the target of an 1868 assassination attempt by Henry James O'Farrell on Clontarf Beach.
RPA is a premier tertiary and quaternary referral hospital, recognised as a leader in healthcare excellence and innovation.
The building facades and roof form are a finely detailed example of Victorian architecture.

It is difficult to find a parking space, but nonetheless, the hospital offers some of the best doctors around for different circumstances. I, for one, have issues regarding being an immunocompromised individual so often I'm seen pretty quick whenever I'm bought to hospital.

I rate 1 star only because the doctors are lovely. Nurses, triage, front desk, etc should go and work somewhere as they lack of humanity.
It has to be the worst hospital in the whole country not because they don't have the equipment but due to the fact the waiting time in ER are comparable to a 4th world country (and I am saying this as an Aussie Peruvian). Don't even bother coming here because even cut hands and broken legs need to wait hours as there is no surgeon. I was sent home after 8 hours to take Gaviscon. Do yourself a favour and just deal with you pain at home.

I visited cardiology day stay today for a right heart catheter study. The entire staff made for an exellent experience. The nurses were second to non. The drs including Dr David baker and Dr Augustine were extremely professional and caring. They explained every detail of my procedure in detail. I could not have been treated in a better facility.

Bukbuk Aesthetic

The maternity ward really took care of me and my baby. As a first time mum this hospital and MAPs program really supported me during my c-section and recovery time. The midwives really cared and showed love. I was very nervous right before my surgery, but the whole surgical team took their time to explain the whole process and my midwife would always reassure me and held my hand the whole time!! They also took the time to show me how to feed, wrap, change nappy, sooth and bathe my baby patiently despite being so busy. They were really there to support me 24hours a day. I would recommend this hospital to all mums out there!

I am incredibly impressed with the level of service and care I received at the RPA. Anyone expecting fast service in an ER without an actual emergency should understand the shortage of medical professionals in Australia.

While the service can be slow, the staff’s caring nature made the wait worthwhile. Special thanks to all the staff, especially Megan at the ER reception, who went above and beyond to ensure I had a positive experience.

To all those in emergency tonight. You should hang your heads in shame. A woman 15 weeks pregnant attends with a suspected miscarriage and not once over a period of 3 hours, despite repeated requests, did anyone bother to check the baby’s heartbeat. She ended up walking out at 2am on her own. Well done.

2:30am Emergency Department - nurses scrolling on their phones, chatting to each other about the weather, one filing her nails. The best of the best here. Emergency department just about empty, yet still waiting hours. Although it seems some get special treatment, maybe they have private health insurance. What exactly are my taxes paying for. Pathetic.

4:00am Doctors now having catch up and laugh with triage whilst patients wait in pain. This place is a joke.

4:45am Man walks in with young child, no one at reception, triage nurses chatting out back. Man sits for a couple of minutes, triage nurse tells man he needs to go to reception before his child is seen. No one at reception. Man calls taxi to take him to another hospital and leaves.

6:24am no doctor has been calling patients for over 2 hours, only 2 patients have been seen in the 4 hours I’ve been here. My daughters abdominal pains n and vomiting continues, 4 hours.

Public health system in Australia is a joke, front line medical staff act with zero care or urgency, animals at Vets get better treatment.
