Just had the most horrible experience with the reception staff.

I had called the hotline and spoken to a nurse, who advise my son to be seen by a local doctor today.
Asap.

I wanted my five month old to be seen to today and I wanted a doctors opinion and young staff gave attitude and hung up on me. She also told me the doctor was sick who was practicing today, as if that had any impact on seeing people.

I understand practices are full; but in my experience people always make room for a baby, especially one so young.

I proceeded to call another practice in town and despite being full; my child was made priority. On a small town; I think this is super important, especially when the closest hospital is 45/1 hr away,

Really disappointed in this service. No bedside manner at all.

For reception staff to determine (with no medical expertise if a doctor could see, without getting that doctors opinion is ridiculous).

We had an excellent experience bringing in our 16 month old. We weren't even sure we would be seen at late notice but we were made to feel very comfortable and reassured. Everyone from the receptionist to the nurse to the Dr (Dr John) was personable and easy to communicate with. An excellent level of care!

Went in with an ear infection. They tested me for pneumonia, the flu, and covid.
Gave me panadiene forte and told me to use nasal spray…. Waste of $92

Maybe because it was a Friday afternoon? Maybe because we aren't locals? Maybe Doc A wasn't having a great day? But surely, if you see the patient, you should make the effort. DD suffered a nasty mountain bike spill in the National Park, requiring medical evacuation. Nursing staff at the centre were great; cleaning and dressing various significant abrasions. Doc's approach was rather "Care factor = Meh" & some questionable advice given (re availability of xray/ imaging & re taking NSAIDs despite possible fracture). I guess we will be heading to the "other" medical centre in town next time.

Best medical service experience. Great follow up with the Doctor calling me a couple of days later. I visited with a suspected broken toe and the doctor suggested I see my GP when I get home as she didn't like the look of a freckle on my ear. Sure enough it was a melanoma and had I waited any longer it would have been a very nasty situation. Thanks so much for the care.

Had an emergency visit to Dr Louis. Amazing bed side manner with small injured people and the whole out of hour experience was seamless. All stitched up!

Absolutely appalling reception. I rang to get a second Astra Zeneca shot before returning to a known hot spot 2 weeks later. Got lots of umming and arhing but eventually was told a doctor would be consulted and someone would call me about a possible date.
One week on, no one had called. So I rang, No I can’t get in as they are booked out.
If some turkey took their job seriously, I probably could have been vaccinated.
I got the feeling they were never too concerned about vaccinations for outsiders. Otherwise they would have made some concession for their error.
Wake up dudes!
